You want to aim at Gospel health and vitality. We call it a “WELL church.” A WELL church is a church that, W, Worships with authenticity in spirit and in truth; the E is evangelism and missions; L, loving one another and then the last L in the WELL church is a learning church.

This particular teaching, I believe that’s not simply an error -- that is an abomination. It is that which is destructive in the lives of people. It offers a false hope. Sickness and adversity and difficulties are not the evidences that you don’t believe enough -- they are the occasions to mature your faith in Christ.

The sexual revolution, in its pervasiveness, in its promiscuity and now in its perversion, will end up with something unwanted -- it’s called a child which, actually, God had ordained as the purpose of sex. The purpose of sex was not gratification; that is the secular humanist hijacking of sexuality.

The NFL has had a tough year, but something interesting happened. I just love the way God brings up roses when everybody else looks at ashes.

Now, in the world, we are searching for happiness outside of that. The Yale student body is growing up in a culture that says, “Happiness is in unrestrained drug use, unrestrained sexual activity. Happiness is found in success, in celebrity status, in power, in influence.”
