7. State Representative Wes Allen wants to rein in regulatory power of unelected bureaucrats in Alabama — Allen is proposing the Red Tape Reduction Act as a way to keep unelected government employees from implementing costly rules and regulations. The bill, if passed, would require state agencies to seek legislative approval before they could enact […]

Governor Kay Ivey unveiled the gas tax plan today, and it is a little more complicated than we thought. The plan, known as Rebuild Alabama Infrastructure Plan, proposes a 10-cent increase on gas tax that is phased in over the next three years. Excerpt from the Ivey news release, as follows:

7. Journalists in Alabama can’t understand why no one trusts them; They blame Yellowhammer News, but that just proves that they don’t get it — The Columbia Journalism Review sent a reporter to the state of Alabama to find out how “something called ‘Yellowhammer News'” is covering the state that the majority of the media […]

If reports are true that Governor Kay Ivey is planning on calling a special session to deal with the gas tax, it is being done solely to make it easier to pass through the legislature. There are a few reasons for this and they include avoiding having to invoke a “Budget Isolation Resolution” that allows […]

7. Alabama race hoaxer is now unemployed and living with his agent — Alabama’s own Bruce Maxwell, formerly with the Oakland A’s, finds himself without an MLB team after a low batting average, kneeling during the national anthem, racial restaurant hoax incident in Huntsville and pulling a gun on a delivery driver derailed his career. Bleacher […]

The Alabama legislature has a lot on its plate this legislative session. There could be a gas taxes increase, a teacher pay raise, a Medicaid expansion and who knows what other ways the state’s leaders could come up with to spend tax dollars. What we have not seen is a conversation about making government more efficient, […]

7. A new set of kneelers has emerged, and this group doesn’t understand why people don’t like their protest either — As irrelevant clowns protested on their campus, Ole Miss basketball players kneeled in protest during the national anthem, even though those groups don’t care and most Americans don’t like that form of protest. Although the […]

Radio talk show host Dale Jackson and Dr. Waymon Burke take you through this week’s biggest political stories, including: — Can U.S. Senator Doug Jones (D-AL) beat Congressman Bradley Byrne (R-Mobile)? — Is there a racial component at play in the drama with the Alabama Democratic Party? — What will the media and their Democrats do […]

Alabama’s law on legal notices and public notification is not that different than the laws of other states that require state and local government must advertise in local print newspapers for matters of the public interest. This means government entities must take tax dollars and hand them over to media companies in exchange for advertising that […]

7. The White House isn’t waiting for lawsuits to be resolved, dares courts to stop Trump — Because a portion of the money for new wall construction is tied up in potential court cases, President Donald Trump will not spend any of the funds that are hung up on his national emergency declaration yet. While […]

The way the potential gas tax increase is talked about in Alabama, even on conservative talk radio, it appears that the higher tax is almost inevitable. This seems to be the conventional wisdom of politicians and media outlets. But if recent events in American politics have taught us anything, it is that conventional wisdom might be […]

7. Hate crime hoaxer has been arrested and charged with “filing a false police report“ — Reports out of Chicago don’t look good for “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett as a grand jury has returned a felony indictment for what the Cook County district attorney believes was a fabricated hate crime to garner publicity. This is […]

Almost every politician in Alabama wanted to get in on condemning, and in some cases calling for the resignation of the editor, publisher and owner of a rag out of Linden, Alabama, with roughly 3,000 subscribers. The governor, both United States senators, multiple congressmen and congresswomen, the State Senate pro tem, the lieutenant governor and surely countless […]

7. The Democratic Party has a new front-runner — he’s a 77-year-old white male socialist — Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is in the primary to be the next Democratic presidential nominee. He polls better than any other candidate currently in the race. The only suspected candidate that out-polls him is former VP Joe Biden. Sanders is […]

State Rep. Bill Poole (R-Tuscaloosa) is sponsoring a gas tax in the State House, but still doesn’t have a number for the increase he will propose, leading many people to question how much support the bill actually has. During a Tuesday conversation on Huntsville’s WVNN about the impending gas tax debate, State Sen. Sam Givhan […]

7. Noted liar and “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett will not talk to police now — After getting the liberal media and celebrities to destroy their credibility further, Smollett has made it clear he will not be coming clean to the police anytime soon. His PR team released a statement announcing he wouldn’t meet with police. […]

7. A major Democrat talking point on tax refunds is obliterated by the Washington Post — Presidential candidate and U.S. Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) received “four Pinocchios” from fact-checkers at the post for repeating a Democratic talking point about how lower refunds mean taxes have gone up. The Post’s Glenn Kessler pointed out how this […]

Radio talk show host Dale Jackson and Dr. Waymon Burke take you through this week’s biggest political stories, including: — Can President Donald Trump go it alone on the border? — Can Governor Kay Ivey pull off her prison plan? — Should Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) force a vote on the Green New […]

Who won the 2018 general election in Alabama? You might think with all the talk of $900 prison spending bills, gas taxes, Medicaid expansion and the lottery that Democrats won in a massive landslide and were preparing to implement their agenda. But that is not what happened — Republicans actually picked up seats. The state […]

7. Brilliant politicians in New York cost themselves 25,000 jobs and untold billions of dollars; Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) cheers — Amazon will not be bringing their second headquarters to New York after outrage over the three billion dollars in economic incentives cause the economically illiterate in the city to believe the city was losing money […]

In an interview with Huntsville’s WVNN, Steve Forbes touted his new TV special on PBS and the strengthening economy. Forbes said Thursday on “The Dale Jackson Show” that he believes President Donald Trump will be re-elected, saying the president “will win re-nomination from Republicans, and he will beat the Democrats” because of a multitude of […]

7. Birmingham’s mayor wants to name a municipal facility after a convicted felon who used his office to enrich himself — Mayor Randall Woodfin wants to honor the late Larry Langford by naming the CrossPlex after the corrupt politicians because “it’s fitting for all the work he did.” The pious government watchdog at AL.com who […]

7. Oakland Raiders (Alazona Raiders?) to Birmingham seems unlikely  — The city of Birmingham could be the home of the Oakland Raiders, at least part-time for one year, if a deal with the team and the city of Tucson, Arizona, comes to fruition. The Raiders’ lease with the Oakland Coliseum is expired and they don’t start […]

We have all heard about the completely unbelievable story about “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett. He was allegedly assaulted at 2 a.m. by two guys who attacked him over his homosexuality and his race in Chicago. They apparently dumped a liquid on him and placed a noose around his neck in subzero temperatures. As the targeted assault […]
