Auburn Tigers face tough second round test against Creighton

The No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, Auburn Tigers, will face a tough test Saturday evening in their second-round matchup against the No. 9 seed Creighton Bluejays.

After surviving an ugly first half against the Alabama State Hornets, the Tigers are just two halves away from returning to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since their Final Four run in 2019.

Creighton on the other hand is coming off a dominant win over the Louisville Cardinals in the first round of the tournament.

The Blue Jays’ center Ryan Kalkbrenner presents a unique challenge at over 7 feet tall and will likely be assigned the job of stopping Auburn superstar Johni Broome. The guard combo of Steven Ashworth and Jamiya Neal is a dangerous one as well with the duo scoring 51 combined points against the Cardinals.

If Auburn plays the way they did on Thursday and the Bluejays do the same, the Tigers’ historic season could come to a much earlier end than expected.

The game tips off from Lexington at 6:10 p.m. CST and can be seen on TruTV and TBS.
