The No. 11 Auburn men’s basketball team on Wednesday evening beat the University of Alabama 95-91 in overtime.

The Tigers won this rematch after Bama won the teams’ first SEC duel of this season when Auburn was undefeated at the time.

Auburn never trailed in Wednesday’s game.

“Typically, when you play Alabama, it’s all about the rivalry,” Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl said in a statement. “It’s all about Auburn and Alabama, it’s about the Iron Bowl, it’s about two schools in the state that compete. This one wasn’t about that. It was about Auburn trying to stay alive in a championship race.”

Auburn’s next game will be against Missouri on Saturday. Alabama next plays No. 25 LSU on Saturday.
