The college football calendar has been the subject of much scrutiny as of late, with early signing day coming up tomorrow forcing coaches to essentially recruit and do bowl prep at the same time.

While the calendar offers challenges, head coach Hugh Freeze says he is happy to be back on the field with his players:

“Excited to start practice today, I missed seeing our kids around. You feel a little bit scattered to tell you the truth with the calendar we’re faced with to combine bowl prep with us having recruits here. But it’s exciting that we have that opportunity,” Freeze stated in his media availability yesterday.

The bowl game got a big piece of news this afternoon, with the news breaking that Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa will be opting out of the game and redshirt sophomore Billy Edwards, who has thrown just ten passes this season, will start.

The line has jumped from Auburn being favored by two points all the way to a touchdown in wake of the news surrounding the Terrapins quarterback situation.

The game will be played on Saturday, December 30th at 1:00 C.T.
