The Alabama Associated General Contractors Political Action Committee announced its endorsement of Caroleene Dobson for Alabama Secretary of State and Derek Chen for State Auditor in the 2026 statewide elections.

Alabama AGC PAC’s endorsements reflect the organization’s commitment to supporting candidates who demonstrate integrity, accountability, and a strong understanding of the regulatory and administrative environments that directly impact Alabama’s construction industry and business community.

“Caroleene Dobson and Derek Chen both bring exceptional professionalism and a deep commitment to transparent, business-minded governance,” said Billy Norrell, CEO of Alabama AGC.

“Our members depend on leaders who appreciate the importance of efficient state operations and fair regulatory practices. We are confident that Caroleene and Derek will serve Alabama with the integrity and stewardship our state deserves.”

Alabama AGC will continue to provide its members with information about the 2026 statewide elections and encourages all voters to participate in shaping the future of Alabama’s business climate.

Dobson and Chen will run in the May 19, 2026 Republican primary. Both the Secretary of State and the State Auditor are open seats.

“As the oldest and largest statewide trade association in the commercial construction industry, Alabama Associated General Contractors has brought together qualified construction contractors and industry-related companies dedicated to skill, integrity, and responsibility since 1920,” AGC’s description of its mission reads.

“The Association provides broad influence and a full range of services to serve the needs of its members, partners, and the industry. Alabama AGC is a state chapter of the national association, Associated General Contractors of America.”
