The Magic City Classic, the largest Historically Black College and University football game in the country, has signed on Amazon as the title sponsor.

The event, now officially named the Amazon Magic City Classic, presented by Coca-Cola, marks a historic partnership that enhances the experience for fans, the Universities, and the community.

“We are thrilled to welcome Amazon as the new title sponsor of the Magic City Classic,” said Perren King, executive director of the Magic City Classic. “This partnership represents a shared commitment to education, diversity, and economic growth in our community. We look forward to working with Amazon to elevate the Classic experience for our fans and the broader HBCU family.”

The classic, an annual showdown between Alabama A&M University and Alabama State University, has long been a celebration of HBCU culture, tradition, and excellence. With Amazon’s support, the event will reach new heights, delivering enhanced fan engagement, innovative activations, and expanded community initiatives.

Amazon said the involvement underscores its dedication to supporting HBCUs and fostering opportunities for students and alumni.

Through this partnership with the Magic City Classic, we’re celebrating HBCUs as a legacy of excellence while investing in tomorrow’s leaders,” said Donetta Houser-Sly, HR director, Amazon North America People Experience & Technology. “This historic game isn’t just about football — it’s about community, opportunity, and the endless possibilities that arise when tradition meets innovation.”

The 2025 Amazon Magic City Classic, presented by Coca-Cola, is on Oct. 25 at Birmingham’s historic Legion Field. Fans can look forward to an unforgettable weekend filled with football, marching band performances, and cultural celebrations.
