After “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson during this weekend’s show mocked the appearance of Texas congressional candidate Dan Crenshaw, a former Navy SEAL who lost an eye while serving our nation in Afghanistan, Alabama Republican Party Chairman Terry Lathan forcefully condemned his words while calling for an apology.

In a statement to Yellowhammer News, Lathan called Davidson’s words “despicable.”

“How is there humor found in the loss of one’s eye in service of your nation? Dan Crenshaw is due an apology from Pete Davidson and Saturday Night Live. Mr. Crenshaw is a bigger and better person than these repulsive cheap shot artists,” Lathan said.

She added, “They should rename their show Shameful Night Live.”
