ALGOP announces qualifying for Alabama House District 12 special election

Qualifying for the upcoming special election in State House District 12 is set for next week, the Alabama Republican Party announced.

House District 12 represents portions of Cullman County and the seat was held by State Rep. Corey Harbison, who resigned to spend more time with his family.

“We appreciate Representative Harbison’s decade of service to the people of Cullman County,” said Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl. “As we look ahead to this special election, the Alabama Republican Party remains focused on supporting our candidates who uphold our conservative principles and will represent the people of House District 12 with integrity.”

Qualifying will begin at 8:30 a.m. Monday and will close at 5 p.m. Tuesday, the GOP announced.

Republican candidates may qualify online at www.algop.org or in person at ALGOP Headquarters, located at 3505 Lorna Road, Hoover, AL 35216.

Special election dates are:

  • Special Primary Election: July 15
  • Special Primary Runoff (if needed): Aug. 12
  • Special General Election:  Oct. 28
