Alan Jackson playing two drive-in concerts in Alabama

Country music legend Alan Jackson will be performing two drive-in shows in Alabama next month where concert-goers will remain in spaces designated for their vehicle, similar to old-fashioned drive-in movie theaters.

Jackson will perform in Cullman on June 5 and Fairhope on June 6. Tickets begin at $99.99 and go on sale May 27. Members of Jackson’s fan club can begin purchasing tickets on Tuesday.

A percentage of the money that comes in from each show will be given to food banks in the area around each performance.

Though attendees will be forced to stay in the parking spot for their vehicle, the event’s website says each spot should have enough room to accommodate getting out of a car and sitting in a lawn chair. Backing into a spot and sitting in a truck bed is also allowed.

Jackson’s Cullman show will be held at York Farms, the location where the yearly festival Rock the South is normally held.

The Fairhope show will be at Oak Hollow Farm.

The expected audience size for each show is about 2,000 parked vehicles. The production team putting on the shows is taking every precaution to stay in line with CDC guidelines to prevent coronavirus transmission.

Attendees breaking social distancing protocols will be forced to leave the show, according to the event’s website. All event staff will be wearing masks.

The tickets sold are non-refundable, and kids under four get in for free.

A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $200 that get a spot closest to the stage.

General admission tickets are not assigned parking when purchased, each spot is designated by an attendant upon arrival.

The event has put out a list of answers to frequently asked questions for those wanting more information.

Beginning May 27 at 10:00 a.m., tickets for both performances can be purchased online.
