Alabama’s favorite funnyman is back in action! Beloved Birmingham radio personality Bill “Bubba” Bussey has launched his solo podcast, “Bubba on the Lake,” and fans are already tuning in to hear what the longtime radio star has to say.

Bussey, one-half of the iconic “Rick & Bubba Show,” premiered his new podcast on March 9 with an episode fittingly titled, “And it Begins… Bubba’s New Podcast.”

In his inaugural episode, Bussey introduced his fresh format, explored the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from Donald Trump’s administration, and shared his insights with his wife, Betty Lou.

Listeners can expect to hear Bussey’s signature mix of unfiltered humor and real talk that so many people have enjoyed over the years.

In the first podcast, he revealed that he wants to focus on people, places, and personalities and interview celebrities along with everyday people, sharing those individuals with listeners. He also hinted that the show might hit the road from time to time, exploring exotic vacation locations.

Bussey has added another role to his resume as well, now serving as the Assistant Athletic Director for Broadcasting at Jacksonville State University. Clearly, he is staying busy both behind the mic and in the sports world.

For fans who’ve missed Bussey’s one-of-a-kind humor, “Bubba on the Lake” is already making waves, proving that Alabama’s favorite radio personality isn’t drifting too far from the airwaves anytime soon.
