The Alabama Retail Association on Wednesday announced the endorsements it had made in statewide races ahead of the 2022 campaign cycle.

The association made its endorsements through its political arm, RetailPAC. The political action committee selected its candidates of preference in the gubernatorial, lieutenant governor, attorney general and Supreme Court races.

Additionally, the Alabama Retail Association PAC, the association’s federal political action committee, endorsed its preferred candidate in the state’s 2022 U.S. Senate race.

Alabama Retail Association’s list of endorsed candidates are as follows:

Constitutional Offices

  • Gov. Kay Ivey
  • Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth
  • Attorney General Steve Marshall

Associate Supreme Court Justice

  • Justice Kelli Wise
  • Greg Cook

U.S. Senate

  • Katie Britt

Alabama Retail chairman Todd Noden indicated that the association’s endorsed candidates were aware of issues relevant to the state’s retail industry.

“The Alabama Retail Association believes these candidates understand the issues retailers face and that, if elected, these individuals will give retailers’ interests a fair hearing,” asserted Noden.

Alabama’s largest retail industry representative group maintained that it rigorously examines each candidate before officially making an endorsement.

Alabama Retail President Rick Brown stated, “We are confident these candidates are the best choices for these positions.”

The association advised that it would announce further endorsements following the end of the candidate qualifying period.
