Alabama PSC Candidate Chip Beeker: If Obama has his way, utility rates will ‘skyrocket’

Election season is officially upon us, and Republican Public Service Commission candidate Chip Beeker is first out of the gate in his race with a television ad set to begin airing on Monday.

Beeker is one of three Republicans running to unseat first-term commissioner Terry Dunn. Dunn has endured an onslaught of criticism from conservatives for aligning himself with environmental groups during the PSC’s utility review process.

Beeker wastes no time getting right to the point on the environmental issues in his ad, which can be viewed above.

Here’s the transcript:

Chip Beeker:

ObamaCare is causing our healthcare costs to skyrocket. If Obama has his way, our utility rates will be next. I’m Chip Beeker, and I’m running for the Public Service Commission to fight the liberal policies coming out of Washington. Obama and his allies are pushing ObamaCare and his job-killing energy policy right here in Alabama. Stand with me, Chip Beeker, and let’s tell the Washington liberals enough is enough.

Voiceover:

Chip Beeker, the conservative fighter Alabama needs.
