Alabama GOP delegation praises Trump’s effort to make D.C. ‘safe and beautiful again!’

Members of Alabama’s Republican Congressional delegation are showing their support for President Trump’s plan to combat crime in Washington D.C.

Trump announced Monday that he is placing the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police under federal control and is going to be sending 800 National Guard troops to the nation’s capital.

“This is liberation day in D.C. We’re gonna take our capital back,” Trump told reporters. “Our capital city has been overtaken by violent gangs and bloodthirsty criminals, roving mobs of wild youth, drugged-out maniacs and homeless people. And we’re not going to let it happen anymore.”

U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) said Trump had to do this because “Mayor Bowser has failed D.C.”

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) also lauded Trump’s announcement because “Our nation’s capital should represent the best of America.”
