The Alabama Forestry Association (AFA) on Wednesday announced its endorsement of State Sen. Jack Williams (R-Wilmer) in his reelection bid for the Alabama State Senate, serving District 34.

A lifelong resident of Mobile County, Williams is a graduate of Mary G. Montgomery High School in Azalea, Alabama. Engrained within the agriculture and forestry community, Williams and his wife own and operate J Bar W Farm.

In announcing its endorsement of Williams, AFA president and CEO Chris Isaacson touted the work the freshman senator has partaken in on behalf of the forestry community.

“As a farm and timberland owner himself, Jack knows firsthand about how important the forest products industry is to our state’s economy,” said Isaacson. “He always defends the needs of the agriculture and forestry industries and we stand with him in his bid for reelection.”

Williams, a previous member of the lower chamber, was elected to the Senate in 2018, where he serves on the Agriculture Conservation and Forestry Committee. He also serves as the vice chairman of the Banking and Insurance Committee.

Williams extended his appreciation to the association and pledged to continue his support of conservative values in the legislature’s upper chamber.

“It is an honor to be endorsed by the Alabama Forestry Association, a champion in advocacy for landowners and forest business owners,” said Williams. “As a farmer who raises cattle, timber and hay, I understand the importance of AFA’s mission and its impact on Alabama’s economy. I am thankful for their continued support and leading voice in the fight to protect conservative values.”

Senate District 34 encompasses Mobile County. The primary election will take place on May 24, 2022.
