In what worship pastor Michael Adler called “some back hallway practice time,” a group from Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham put together a stirring arrangement of “Mary Did You Know?” that will immediately get even the biggest Scrooge into the Christmas spirit.

Adler posted a Facebook video of his Shades Mountain group preparing for their “Christmas by Candlelight” services, which are set to take place Sunday, Dec. 6th at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

“Christmas by Candlelight brings singers, dancers, artists and storytellers together as they retell the ageless truth of God mending a broken world through the gift of Christ,” the church explains on their website.

The church’s a cappella version “Mary Did You Know?” will likely remind listeners of Pentatonix, the Grammy Award-winning group whose two Christmas releases have quickly become holiday favorites.

If the rehearsal version is this good, we can’t wait to hear what it sounds like during the service this coming Sunday.
