U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt has announced that Nandini Patel, a ninth grader at Fort Payne High School, has been named the winner of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for Alabama’s Fourth Congressional District.
Patel’s app, Choice Bound, was selected for its innovative design and potential to positively impact users of all ages.
“Nandini Patel’s work exemplifies the kind of creativity and problem-solving that the Congressional App Challenge aims to foster,” said Aderholt (R-Haleyville) “Her app addresses a critical need, and I am incredibly proud of her accomplishment. This achievement highlights the talent and ingenuity that exists in Alabama’s Fourth District. With Nandini only being in the ninth grade, I can’t wait to see what else she achieves in the future.”
Choice Bound is an intuitive app that guides individuals toward their ideal career paths and college choices. With an easily readable user interface and interactive features, the app transforms what can often be a stressful process into a fun and engaging experience. Whether users are high school students planning their future or adults considering a career change, Choice Bound offers valuable tools and insights to help them make informed decisions.
The Congressional App Challenge is a prestigious competition held annually across the United States, inviting middle and high school students to create and submit their own apps. Established in 2015, the Challenge encourages students to explore coding and computer science, fostering a greater interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.
Winners from each participating district have their apps displayed in the U.S. Capitol and are invited to the House of Code celebration in Washington, D.C.
