7. Red flag laws in response to the shooting at the Covenant Christian School are dead in the Legislature in Tennessee. However, the attempt to increase armed security in schools is still alive with one bill allowing law enforcement to decide to place the officers into schools without school resource officers.
6. U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks) wants the Government Accountability Office to probe the decision to steal Space Command HQ from Alabama. Rogers believes this is all about politics, not national security: “Preferential decision-making by the president because of certain state laws has widely been publicized as a major factor but was never included in the basing requirements.”

The Distressed Institutions of Higher Education Resolving Loan Program lays out a scenario for relief that only Birmingham-Southern College could meet.
