6. The Alabama Department of Commerce wrapped up its trip in Paris for the Paris Air Show. Commerce Secretary Greg Canfield said, “Alabama boasts all the resources that make it the perfect location for aerospace.” These trips have been used for years to find and grow relationships for aerospace production in Alabama, an industry that contributed $1.3 billion in federal taxes in 2021, has brought $3.6 billion in capital investment into the state, and 8,000 jobs.

It has been a rough weekend for Joe Biden’s staffers and backers with a seemingly annoyed White House press corps making it clear they do not believe President Joe Biden and his press secretary’s denials that Biden knew what his no-good crackhead son Hunter was up to with foreign actors and Chinese intelligence entities. Only a few of the Sunday shows asked critical questions of the Democrat administration, the Department of Justice, and Attorney General Merrick Garland, who could be impeached.
4. New polling has both former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden losing support since the last presidential election. Both are viewed as unfavorable amongst voters – 48% view Biden as unfavorably and 56% view Trump the same way. Biden is in a better electoral place overall winning people who “somewhat” disapprove of him over his opponent 50-39, he also leads amongst 18-34, women, Latinos, black voters, and independents.
3. State Sen. Arthur Orr (R-Decatur) signaled a real chance for school choice legislation in 2024. This is important as Orr is the chairman of the Senate Education Budget Committee and has expressed concern about the finances of the Education Trust Fund in the past over tax cuts for groceries, overtime tax removal, and tax rebates.
2. Plenty of maps are being suggested by groups, including the plaintiffs in the case that undid the Alabama Legislature’s map. But it is unlikely these maps that are being suggested are going to happen, the elected Legislature is going to get the first crack.

Russian civil war averted, American politicians and media oddly giddy about the opportunity to watch the world burn because the Wagner group isn’t looking for peace in Ukraine and Russia is a nuclear power. Some have suggested this is a smokescreen to distract from Hunter Biden, but this implies the Biden administration is competent enough to coordinate such a scheme.
