7. Hunter. Freaking. Biden.

• Showing he has no understanding of the trouble his own son should be in, President Joe Biden suggested his Justice Department should be looking into Twitter CEO Elon Musk over ties to foreign governments.
• Biden, whose terrible son Hunter is under investigation for using his father’s position for business deals was asked if Elon Musk is a threat to U.S. national security and if should the U.S. should investigate. Biden responded: “Elon Musk’s cooperation and/or technical relationships with other countries is worthy of being looked at.” He added, oddly, “Whether or not he is doing anything inappropriate — I’m not suggesting that. I’m suggesting it’s worth being looked at. That’s all I’ll say.”

6. Current racists try to make MSNBC hire former racist host back

• Black leaders, journalists and activists are protesting the firing of an obviously racist ex-MSNBC personality, Tiffany Cross, after she was fired for racist comments made on and off the network and for refusing to stop when told to do so.
• The list of disgraced people demanding a meeting with MSNBC’s notoriously racist President Rashida Jones includes fired ESPN host Jemele Hill, ex-MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry and Planned Parenthood President Alexis McGill Johnson. They argue, you guessed it, democracy is at stake, “Given the undeniable rise of fascism and persistent threats to democracy we face in the current moment, NBC should be an unrelenting force for truth and a safe harbor for voices like Ms. Cross as well as those with whom she shared her broad and popular platform.”

5. Trump’s insecurity play continues, Biden attempts to bait him

• Feeling like Tuesday did not go his way, reportedly blaming his wife for it and preparing for the expected launch of his next presidential campaign, former President Donald Trump took another lame shot at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Trump took to his own social media site to tell dozens of people about how many votes he got in Florida in 2020.
• But Trump’s issues with DeSantis only seem to be starting and this is inevitably giving the media the war between the two they want as they wait for the Florida governor to respond. There are people pushing Trump to reschedule his announcement that he will be running for president next week. Biden suggests Trump will “not take power” again if he runs in 2024.

4. Alabama is still racist after voters rejected racism

• Alabama voters voted overwhelmingly (76.49%, 886,270 voters) to remove racist language from the state Constitution in the election Tuesday, in the latest move to clean up the 1901 document. Not good enough, says State Rep. Merika Coleman (D-Birmingham), who says “we’ve still got work to do.”

• Coleman warned of negative headlines for the state if the vote had gone the other way while hypocritically taking part in generating negative headlines on at aldotcom. She would say, “I would have hated to see the national headlines today—especially after the ignorant comments Sen. Tommy Tuberville made insinuating people fighting for reparations are criminal. I’m glad the citizens of the state of Alabama wanted to right that wrong.” Obviously, Tuberville did not say that.

3. Five Selma students used fentanyl, one died

• After one sophomore at Selma High School died of a fentanyl overdose, it was learned that five students in total may have taken the drug at school. This all started when a 16-year-old became unresponsive at school, was taken to the Vaughn Regional Medical Center where he would later die.
• The Dallas County district attorney has said investigators want blood tests on four other students and an autopsy on the fifth who ended in the emergency room.

2. New races called, new votes found, Pelosi out as Speaker

• The battle for control of the U.S. House and Senate is still not over as votes continue to be counted and somehow found. Wisconsin was called for Republicans while Arizona and Nevada are still outstanding. Particularly galling is Nevada where more votes are expected to arrive and be counted.
• A big win for Republicans was announced, as the flip of the U.S. House of Representatives was secured. The question of who will win the Speaker of the House is still in doubt. But House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has the clear frontrunner status as he called the win of the house, “no small feat.”

1. It’s a runoff for control of the U.S. Senate

• U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) and Herschel Walker get to do it again. Expect big names and big money to pour into the state hoping to give Republicans the seat which would make Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) the majority leader or to give Democrats the seat and keep Vice President Kamala Harris as the deciding vote on issues of importance.
• Many hope former President Donald Trump will not play a big role in Georgia, but he should not, as he is regularly cited as one of the reasons both runoff elections in the state went Democrat after 2020 presidential election.
