A generous Limestone County family has made Mooresville the new home base of Singing River Trail.
The McCrary family, owners of 1818 Farms, has provided Singing River Trail a home that sits on six acres of land at 4865 Arrowhead Landing Road in Mooresville.
For Singing River Trail, a 200-mile greenway trail and connector of Tennessee Valley communities, the new headquarters will serve as a prime location to fulfill its mission of enhancing quality of life for North Alabama residents.
The McCrary family has provided North Alabama a location to recognize the area’s uniqueness and celebrate everything the region has to offer, according to Singing River Trail Executive Director John Kvach.
“Located in the center of North Alabama, the Mooresville home is a perfect fit for Singing River Trail. This will be a place for everyone, a place where the community can come together and experience what makes our region special,” said Kvach. “We are grateful for the McCrary’s support to our organization. This partnership proves that when for-profits, nonprofits, and municipalities all work together, it makes our region better.”
The Singing River Trail, a Native American Heritage Trail dedicated to the memory of the Tennessee River, is committed to creating opportunities that connect communities through economic development, outdoor recreation, tourism and active transportation.
The new headquarters, which sits at the heart of the Trail, will serve to strengthen regional bonds and promote health and wellness.
Natasha McCrary, owner and founder of 1818 Farms, expressed her family’s honor in providing the property and said the collaborative effort could serve as a model for future economic development efforts.
